You can permanently delete your Golfmatch account and the personal data associated with it at any time. You can do this yourself from inside the app, or — if you can no longer access the app — by sending us a deletion request by email. This page explains both methods, what data is removed, and what (if anything) we are required to retain.
1. Delete your account inside the app
If you still have the Golfmatch app installed and can sign in, this is the fastest method:
- Open the Golfmatch app and sign in.
- Go to My Page → Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Choose a reason (optional), then type DELETE to confirm.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm the final prompt.
Your account is deactivated immediately and your data is removed within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
2. Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete your account on your behalf:
- Email: zhouwenbin32@gmail.com
- Subject: Account Deletion Request
Please send your request from, or include, the phone number or email address registered to your Golfmatch account so we can verify ownership. We may ask for additional verification to protect your account. We respond within 30 days and typically much sooner.
3. What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following personal data is permanently removed:
- Profile information — display name, gender, age, location, golf profile, bio, and profile photos
- Likes and match history
- Message history
- Posts and photos you uploaded
- Calendar and play-availability
- Notification settings and history
- Account and authentication records tied to your sign-in (phone number / email / linked Google or Apple ID)
4. What is retained, and for how long
We delete your account data within 30 days of your deletion request. In limited cases we may retain certain information only where, and only for as long as, it is required:
- Legal and regulatory obligations — records we are required by law to keep for a defined period.
- Fraud prevention and safety — minimal records and abuse/report history needed to prevent banned users from re-registering and to enforce safety rules across the Service.
- Subscription receipts — retained for accounting and tax purposes (typically 7 years, varies by jurisdiction). Payment records are handled by the App Store (Apple) and Google Play; we do not store your card details.
- Backups — some information may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period until backup rotation completes.
Any retained data is limited to what is strictly necessary and is deleted once the applicable purpose or legal retention period has ended. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.
