Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Golfmatch mobile application and the dating.golfmatch.info website (together, the "Service"), operated by the Golfmatch Operations Office ("Golfmatch," "we," "us," "our"). Please read them carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading the app, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

• "Member" means a person who has registered an account on the Service.
• "Profile" means the information you provide about yourself, including photos, golf-related fields, and self-introduction.
• "Match" means a mutual indication of interest between two Members through the like or super-like feature.
• "Post" means content you publish to the Golfmatch feed, including photos, videos, captions, and scorecards.
• "Premium" means the paid subscription tier that unlocks additional features.
• "User Content" means all content you submit, post, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Service.

3. Purpose and features

The Service is designed to help golfers connect with each other for shared rounds, friendship, and romantic relationships. Core features include:

• Profile creation with golf-related fields (skill level, scores, home course, calendar)
• Discovery and matching based on shared interests, skill, calendar, and location
• Messaging between matched Members (Premium feature)
• Posts feed for verified Members
• Search and filter
• Identity verification
• Block and report functions

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older, that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and that your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation. If you are accessing the Service on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

5. Account registration

You may create an account using one of the following sign-in methods:

• Email address and password
• Sign in with Apple
• Sign in with Google

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep it accurate. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@golfmatch.info if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate any account for false registration information, suspected fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.

6. Identity verification

Identity verification is voluntary. You may verify your identity by submitting a selfie and a government-issued photo ID such as a passport, driver's license, or national ID. Once verified, your profile will display a verified badge and you will be able to publish posts to the feed. Verified Members generally see higher match quality because other Members can trust their identity. Verification documents are used only to confirm identity and are deleted from active systems promptly after the verification result is determined.

7. Premium subscription

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks additional features (such as messaging matches you haven't matched with yet, seeing who liked you, advanced filters, and the gold Premium badge). The current price and billing period are displayed in the app at the point of purchase.

Billing

• Premium is sold and processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), not by Golfmatch directly.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
• Refunds are governed by the policies of Apple or Google, not Golfmatch.
• Prices are set per region by the platform's local pricing tier. Taxes may apply.

8. User posts and content

Only Members who have completed identity verification can publish posts to the feed. You retain all rights you have in your User Content. You are solely responsible for your User Content and for ensuring it does not violate the rights of any third party (including copyright, trademark, privacy, and publicity rights).

9. License you grant us

When you upload User Content to the Service, you grant Golfmatch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, display, perform, distribute, modify (for technical purposes such as resizing or compression), and otherwise use that content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, improving, and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where the content has been shared with others (such as in a conversation) and they have not deleted it, or where retention is required by law.

10. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Misrepresent your age, identity, photos, or other information
• Use the Service if you are under 18
• Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, dox, or intimidate any other person
• Post or transmit sexually explicit content, nudity, gore, or content that exploits or endangers minors
• Post hate speech, content that incites violence, or that discriminates based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristic
• Commercial solicitation, advertising, multi-level-marketing recruitment, religious or political solicitation, or sending spam
• Solicit money, request loans, or run scams of any kind, including romance fraud
• Impersonate any person, organization, or affiliation
• Scrape, crawl, copy, archive, or otherwise harvest data from the Service without our written permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code, except where this restriction is prohibited by law
• Use bots, automated scripts, or any non-human means of interacting with the Service
• Create multiple accounts, sell, share, or transfer your account, or operate an account on behalf of someone else
• Interfere with the operation of the Service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or test the security of any system without our written permission
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law

11. Enforcement

We may take any of the following actions if we determine, in our reasonable discretion, that you have violated these Terms: warn you, remove specific User Content, restrict specific features, dissolve a match, suspend your account temporarily, or terminate your account permanently. Severe or repeated violations, illegal activity, or activity that endangers other Members will generally result in permanent termination without prior notice. We may report illegal activity to law enforcement.

12. Matching and messages

A match is formed when two Members mutually indicate interest (like or super-like). Premium Members can send and receive messages. Either Member may block or report another Member at any time. Blocking dissolves any existing match and prevents future contact between the two accounts.

Members are responsible for their own safety when meeting other Members in person. Golfmatch does not conduct background checks beyond optional identity verification, and we do not warrant the character, claims, or intentions of any Member. Always use common sense, meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts.

13. Calendar feature

The calendar lets you indicate which days you can play golf. We use this information to surface Members whose play days overlap with yours. Calendar settings are part of your Profile and visible to other Members as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Intellectual property

All intellectual property in the Service — including the app, website, design, code, brand, name, logo, and content we create — is owned by Golfmatch or its licensors. Except for the limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms, no rights are granted to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service except as expressly permitted.

15. Changes to the Service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice, including for maintenance, bug fixes, security updates, or force majeure events. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to give advance notice of material changes, but we are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

16. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that defects will be corrected; or that you will form any specific relationship through the Service.

We are not responsible for the conduct of other Members, the accuracy of profile information, the outcome of in-person meetings, or any harm arising from interactions with other Members.

17. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Golfmatch be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to the Service, even if Golfmatch has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to Golfmatch in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD 100), or its equivalent in your local currency.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. The limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Golfmatch and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claim, damage, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights.

19. Termination and cancellation

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, your profile, posts, likes, matches, and messages will be deleted promptly in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel an active Premium subscription — you must cancel that separately in your Apple ID or Google Play settings.

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you presents unreasonable risk to us or to other Members.

20. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or to an affiliate, without notice or consent.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, your only remedy is to stop using the Service and delete your account.

22. Apple App Store and Google Play

The following terms apply if you accessed the Service through the Apple App Store or Google Play:

Apple App Store

• These Terms are entered into between you and Golfmatch. Apple is not a party to these Terms.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services with respect to the Service.
• If the Service fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the Service (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Service.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Service or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, consumer protection claims, intellectual property claims, or regulatory claims.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Google Play

• These Terms are entered into between you and Golfmatch. Google is not a party to these Terms.
• Subscriptions purchased through Google Play are governed by the Google Play terms; management and cancellation are handled in Google Play account settings.

23. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The Tokyo District Court and the Tokyo Summary Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, as the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.

If you are a consumer resident in a jurisdiction whose mandatory laws give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or under your local law, nothing in these Terms restricts those rights.

24. Anti-social forces

You represent and warrant that you are not, and will not be, a member of or affiliated with any organized crime group, "boryokudan," or other anti-social force, and that you will not use the Service in any way that supports such organizations. Violation of this clause will result in immediate termination of your account.
